Below are some of are common questions about orders & shipping
Unfortunately we don't currently offer international shipping, but watch this space as we plan to do so in the future.
While we are more than happy to replace your product should it become damaged during transport, unfortunately we cannot accept returns or exchanges for products that you received and used (this includes unpacking it) based on change of mind. Please find out more about our return/exchange policy here. If you have not received your product or it was damaged during shipment, please contact us within 48 hours of receiving the order. After placing an order with us, you should receive two separate emails:
- an order confirmation email
- shipping confirmation email with tracking number for your shipment.
Sometimes those emails end up in a spam folder, so please be sure to check your email spam and if you still can't find them, let us know and we will be more than happy to help resolve the issue.
We do our best to ship orders within couple of days after order was placed, providing we have product in stock. Occasionally this time might vary as a result of busy time during major holidays or an extreme weather. We would prefer to avoid your product being kept in a shipping facility over long weekends in excessive heat, or other extreme weather conditions. Unfortunately, once your package leaves our store, we have no control over shipping company possible delays. Due to longer shipping service processing and delivery times in certain areas, it might take longer to reach you. This also may be the case during very busy times, such as holidays. If your tracking number isn't giving you satisfactory updates, please contact us and we will do our best to investigate at our end what is causing the delay.
Unfortunately, this option is not available at this time, as we don't have a physical store yet. As our company grows, we hope to be able to offer that option in the future.
We have no problem with shipping to PO boxes, providing your PO box is large enough to be able to receive package and your product is not going to get damaged by excessive heat/cold.
Candles & Wax Melts
Our candles are hand poured using clean and renewable ingredients. We use luxurious coconut apricot creme wax which comes from renewable sources and is gluten, paraben, phthalate and toxin free.
This creamy vegan blend is clean burning, biodegradable and skin safe (clinically tested and dermatologist reviewed). We opted for wooden wicksas they produce minimal carbon, burn cleaner than cotton wicks and are toxin free. Our supplier uses wood sourced from FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified mills which strive to protect forests and plant new trees.
We just love the cozy atmosphere natural wooden wicks create with soft crackling, calming flame and wanted to share that with you. Wooden wicks are known to burn cleaner and more evenly than cotton wicks, are more sustainable and create less soot.
We recommend storing your candles in cool and dry place, away from harsh lights and excessive temperatures. It is also important to make sure there is no debris in candle wax, as dust and wooden wick debris will affect burn quality. Wooden wicks should always be trimmed appropriately prior to each burn. Please see our candle, wax melt and wooden wick care page here.
We strive to use clean ingredients and create products that are safe to use. Our candle glass vessels are recyclable and reusable, wax is biodegradable and skin safe, while wooden wicks are sourced from FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified mill. We are always looking into improving our products and packaging to find better green solutions.
This is usually due to wooden wick being too long or most likely too short, resulting in candle burning too hot and too fast. Melted wax pool then covers the short wick and extinguishes the flame. Occasionally this can happen due to excess wax residue on the inside of the candle jar. When this wax melts, it creates deeper wax pool and "drowns" the wick. To fix this issue and as a last resort option, you can try to safely remove excess wax by using paper towel to soak up some wax (while candle is not lit) or scraping out cooled wax from the edge of the jar, making sure you follow safety precautions. Our creamy wax is highly unlikely to stick to the edge of the jar.
During the first burn your candle will form wax and burn pattern memory, which might be difficult to correct once established. Undesirable burn pattern is the one where candle wasn't given enough time to melt wax all the way to the edge and so the tunnel starts forming near the wooden wick. With each consecutive burn, this dent near the wick will become deeper and you might encounter problem with candle wick "drowning" in deep pool of melted wax. To avoid this situation it is best to let your candle form wax melt pool that reaches the edge of the jar, during the very first burn.
If your candle doesn't achieve first optimal burn time, it will not melt wax evenly extending to the edge of the candle vessel. This means it will melt wax in a narrow circular depression around the wick, which will create shallow tunnel. Ideally, candle should melt top layer and turn it into liquid wax extending to the edge of your jar, first time you light it up. This will prevent tunneling and eliminate potential difficulties with lighting wick in the future.
Try burning your candle long enough until the wax is melted all the way to the edge of your candle jar. You might have to repeat this couple of times until wax close to the edge is melted as deep as tunnel near the wick. This will reset the wax memory ring pattern. As a last resort option, some people create a small dome made our of aluminium foil around the edge of candle jar, with space in the middle to allow wick to burn. This should be done for a very short time and extremely carefully as glass container can become very hot in this "oven" line condition and may even crack.
While you could add new wax to your clean old glass candle jar, it is important to know that glass weakens during use and heat, so it is not recommended to reuse jars as candles. Old candle jars however, both glass and tins, can be repurposed in a lot of different ways. They are beautiful and decorative, so why not creatively up-cycle them! Some ideas might include using jars as pen/pencil holders, as a storage for accessories, vase for fresh cut flowers, put a plant in the jar, use them as treat jars...
You will need to remove the residual wax and discard the wooden wick with metal wick holder and round sticker. There are few different ways of removing the wax:
- You can put your candle jar into a water warm enough to melt the wax, but not hot enough to damage glass. Let it sit there until wax is melted. As there should be only 1/4 inch of wax left in your jar, you should be able to wipe out the wax with thick paper towel making sure that melted wax doesn't burn your hand/fingers.
- Another way to remove wax from the jar is by pouring hot water into the jar, around 3/4 full. When the wax melts in hot water it will float up to the surface. You will need to let the water cool down before removing the wax.
- One foolproof way to remove wax is to freeze it in a freezer overnight, which will shrink the wax. As you take your container out of the freezer and tip it upside down, shrunk wax should fall out. If it doesn't, you could use spoon to nudge the wax out of the jar. Lastly, you can hand wash inside of the jar with soap and warm water to remove any final residue. Candle label should come off easily, by just peeling it away from the jar, but if you have sticky label residue, a small amount of isopropyl alcohol on a cotton pad should take care of that. Alternatively, you can wipe the jar with Goo Gone adhesive remover.
Lighting wooden wick candles is slightly different from cotton wicked candles. We find that the best way to approach it is to slightly tilt candle while lighting it, then allow the flame to move across the wick. Keep in mind that wax is what is fuelling your candle's fire and your wooden wick is "sucking" the wax up to fuel the flame. This is why it is very important to keep wick trimmed short and making sure there are no charred bits on wick.
We sure do! We believe it is important to offer a smaller sample size candles that showcase different fragrances, before you decide on larger purchase. Be sure to check our Tealight collection.
We would love creating unique candle for you or your loved one(s)! Please visit our candle bar page for details (available soon).
We want you to have the best experience using our candles! They are best stored in a cool and dry place if you are not using them for longer periods of time. A lot of external factors affect candle quality, such as exposure to artificial light or direct sunlight. Due to the nature of coco apricot creme wax, higher temperatures will also soften this creamy wax.
Smoke is generally created when we blow out the candle flame, so to avoid it, we recommend using 'candle wick snuffer' which is just a fancy name for a handy candle extinguisher accessory. Always remember that blowing out candle flame doesn't only produce unpleasant smoke, but is also dangerous, as parts of burning wick and/or hot wax may be blown out of the candle.
Small amount of unmelted wax on the inside wall of the candle jar is perfectly normal. If there is an excessive amount of wax residue, there might be several contributing reasons for that. One of the factors to consider is not burning candle long enough, which causes smaller wax pool and may even cause tunelling. Another possible reason is wick that isn't burning evenly, usually due to being too long or too short. It is important to trim the wick to appropriate length before each burn. Rarely, candle makers miscalculate wick size for candle jar size and this can cause too big or too small wax melt pool. Our candles have been thorougly tested to ensure that wicks match different jar sizes perfectly.
